CAT CONTROL SERVICES
While feral cats are not inherently pests, their presence in certain environments can lead to concerns and issues. They may carry diseases such as toxoplasmosis
and cat scratch fever, which can pose a risk to humans. At times they exhibit behaviors perceived as nuisances, such as digging in gardens, yowling, or marking
territory. Feral cats can contribute to stray cat overpopulation, leading to more unwanted animals in the same premise.
While addressing feral cats as pests, it's essential to maintain a compassionate approach. Understanding the reasons behind their behavior and seeking solutions
that prioritize their well-being can lead to more effective and sustainable outcomes. Balancing pest management with humane treatment is crucial in addressing
these issues responsibly. The Trap-Neuter-Return approach is generally recommended as a humane and effective method for controlling feral cat populations.
At Hygeia we collaborate with Dubai Municipality Veterinary Services Section, and various other animal welfare organizations, to address concerns about feral cats
while promoting their welfare and minimizing harm to the environment.
